this critical gap and directly measure consumer spending
activity by monitoring every entry on respondents' phone
bills every month.
Unlike traditional market
research companies who collect paper copies of phone
bills via mail, Nielsen Mobile has developed proprietary
software that logs-in and captures detail directly from
the panelists' online phone bills. This approach is
more panelist-friendly, cost-effective and accurate.
If a participant does not already use online billing,
Nielsen Mobile signs them up them as part of the empanelment
process. The entire system is managed with maximum privacy
protection so that no passwords or personally identifiable
information is recorded.
